Article Marketing - Finding Unique Content

If you happen to be completely new to running an internet business, then you should already have heard the term article marketing. Article marketing is a way that the regular Joes like you and I can get a foothold in niche markets. You are through this form of marketing able to target interested visitors and then turn them into motivated buyers.

Without a doubt article marketing is the most powerful way in which one can promote a website. Done properly article marketing is the effective way for getting targeted traffic to your site as well as helping to build backlinks. A short but informative article in order to promote a site may seem to take a lot of effort, but the returns you get are quite phenomenal. So just how does article marketing work for an online business?

To start with, for little or no cost, you can write articles and submit them to various article directories and other websites. In turn, these directories and websites publish your articles on their sites. The cumulative affect of this is that your site’s search engine rankings will naturally rise due to all the backlinks you’ve gained from other sites using your content.

Article marketing is very viral and just one article if it has been written well and contains the appropriate keywords for targeting specific visitors can generate plenty of links. All of the links then come back to your site or to another page you have designated as being the landing one.

Through your article marketing you as a new website owner or author can develop a reputation in your niche market of being an authority on it. A person who comes across one your articles in an article directory and remains interested so that they click on the link provided and visit your site, provides you now with the opportunity to build a more lasting relationship with that person. The next step then is to cultivate that relationship further by offering them more relevant content which will address certain questions or problems that they may have.

On occasion you may hear that article marketing is not as effective as it use to be. Also by submitting an article to a number of different article directories is only actually helping to create duplicate content, and which is putting your site at risk of the major search engines choosing to de-index it.

But putting aside the arguments that rage for and against duplicate content just now, article marketing is still as effective as any other promotional or traffic strategy being used today. Promotional strategies are constantly changing, yet the strength of article marketing remains because the foundations of the World Wide Web are built on it. Plus the WWW is always in need of fresh and relevant content.

Millions of people come online everyday to search for information, products, answers to questions, interaction with online communities or any other number of reasons. By providing this content through means of article marketing, you are establishing your own stake in this enormous arena. Provide enough decent content and you’ll be rewarded with a stream of traffic to your site. Put forth good content and the right offer in front of your site’s visitors and you’re likely to capture the sale.

Article marketing cost you little or nothing as a way for you to promote a product or a website that you have and anyone is able to do it. It is the ideal way of getting targeted traffic to you as long as you are willing to work at it over a period of time and consistently.

By writing informative articles using well-researched keywords in whatever niche you select, you can gain more exposure and higher search engine rankings. But, just submitting the same article over and over to hundreds of article repositories and niche websites can dilute the effectiveness of your article marketing efforts.

In order to succeed with your article marketing you need to submit only unique versions of the articles you produce to a various websites and directories. Although this may seem somewhat daunting the results are amazing and it will be worth all the effort in the end. The risks of duplicate content are gone along with the risks of your site or product slipping in the search engine rankings. But whilst what constitutes being duplicate content is still one of the hot subjects of debate online, many of the more experienced webmasters are happy if each article they produce is different by not more than 30%.

Of course, the greater the difference between versions, the better, but keep in mind that the top search engines spiders review a webpage in its entirety and take other elements of the page into consideration. Even a seemingly small 30% change can be quite sufficient to avoid being “sandboxed”.

Submitting unique versions of any articles you write is the best way when it comes to article marketing. Not only will you be getting more targeted traffic to your website, but the boost in your sites search engine rankings also tends to last for longer because of the backlinks built through you marketing articles which are unique.
